About me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been practicing psychotherapy for over 25 years. I  graduated with my Masters in Counseling Psychology from USF, San Francisco.

I have experience in a variety of community-based mental health settings (including in home therapy, intensive outpatient programs, and community mental health clinics) working with children, adolescents, adults, families and psychiatric services. My commitment to enhancing the emotional well-being of both children and parents has been a central focus of my professional journey. With a particular emphasis on early relational health, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and fostering healthy attachment.

In 2007, I participated in the Infant-Parent Mental Health Fellowship Program through the University of Massachusetts Boston led by Ed Tronick and Kristi Brandt.

In 2008, I cofounded the Infant Parent Center, a non profit agency that offers therapeutic services to expectant families and children 0-3. I've had the privilege of supervising interns and licensed therapists, consultation and reflective practice for teachers serving very young children. In 2021, I left the agency to focus on my private practice in my local town of El Dorado Hills.

I’m certified in End- of -Life issues through Snowline and UC Davis Hospice. I hold a sacred space for clients moving through the grief and loss process in my private practice. I feel honored to be able to come alongside and support individuals touched by grief. Some of these painful experiences include, miscarriage/infant loss, suicide, infertility, complicated relationships, unseen losses, and death of a loved one. Grief is an experience that cannot be denied. Grief is potent, and requires soulful attending.

I also have a specialty in working with alcohol related concerns, addiction, and compulsive behaviors. I often work with individuals who have struggled to maintain a way of life that aligns with their values, goals and hopes of satisfaction.

I offer some approaches that support mind body integration. for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, phobias, addictions, complex trauma and PTSD.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) actively incorporates awareness of the body into clinical practice, targeting the habits of physical action, autonomic dysregulation, and posture. By addressing the physical, as well as the psychological effects of adverse experience on mind and body, SP supports a deep, effective, and unified approach to healing.
